ANNOUNCEMENTS

GIS Day, November 16, 2006

The third annual Washington University GIS Symposium will be held on November 16, 2006. The half-day event will take place in Olin Hall, room 142. This symposium has become an excellent way for GIS users to gain a better understanding of GIS technology and the application of GIS tools around the University.

This year’s event will focus on how GIS has been used successfully here at WU.  Highlights include presentations by WU faculty from Anthropology, Education, Social Work, and Engineering; GIS resources on campus and discussion of emerging GIS technologies. A poster session will also showcase work being done by faculty and graduate students in a variety of programs. Everyone is welcome to come to one or all of the presentations and to learn more about GIS on campus. For more information about the symposium, see the university GIS website at http://gis.wustl.edu or contact Aaron Addison, University GIS Coordinator at aaddison@wustl.edu  or 935-6198.
