New Staff at The Teaching Center and the Libraries
The Teaching Center
Tan Tran joined the staff of The Teaching Center as the programming and classroom support specialist in December 2008. Tan works with Mike Floyd and Tra’Mel Harrell to provide multimedia training and on-call technical support for instructors teaching in University-managed classrooms. He also lends his programming expertise to maintaining the Crestron multimedia-control systems in the classrooms. Tan earned a B.S. in computer science, with an emphasis in information science, at Webster University in 2005.
The University Libraries
Jim Dohle joined the Libraries as a senior systems administrator in fall 2008. Jim is a key member of the team responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of information systems supporting library services and users. He comes to the University from Christian Brothers College High School, where he was assistant director of technology. Jim earned a B.S. in psychology from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.
Azusa-Tanaka became the Libraries’ Japanese catalog and subject librarian in early 2009. She handles outreach, reference, instruction, and collection development and management for the Japanese studies collection. Azusa decided to become a librarian after working as an archivist’s assistant at Columbia University’s East Asian library. She earned a master’s degree in library and information science from Syracuse University, an M.A. in Korean studies from the University of Washington, and a B.A. in English from Doshisha Women’s College in Japan.
